Seeing as I shared some of my favourite experiences of 2015, today I’m going to continue along the same thread and discuss some of my equally amazing plans for the upcoming year, as well as what I hope to do with my blog.
One of the main things I plan to do over the next year is travel. I already have a number of trips planned, and if the opportunity for more comes along I will definitely be taking it! I’m going to Oslo,Norway in January for five days to go skiing, London in February for London Fashion Week, Fiji on a student volunteering trip in August and hopefully to a festival or two during the summer as well – Reading & Leeds Festival is looking like a definite possibility!
Concert-wise I also have a lot planned for 2016 – I’ll be seeing Little Mix in the 3arena the day after my birthday, in April, as I’m the best sister and bought tickets as a Christmas present for my sister. I’ll also be seeing Olly Murs with her in the Marquee, a christmas present from my parents, which I can’t wait for, and I’m also hoping to see Imelda May there too as she was brilliant last time I saw her. While I’m in London for LFW two of my favourites, Tonight Alive and Marina & the Diamonds are also playing and I hope to see them while I’m there too! I’m also visualising Panic! at the Disco announcing an Irish tour date to come with the new album, but who knows what will happen with that yet?
Over the course of 2016 I also plan to take on a few new projects – learning a new language, as well as improving my french is among my priorities. I also hope to improve my photography, maybe by taking a night class, at some point this year. Something very important that I also plan to get cracking on early this year is driving! Although I already have a learners permit, I’ve been highly uncommitted to giving learning a proper go, so 2016 will definitely be the year that happens. (Independence, woo!) I’m also going to try to get back into my music and develop it more, although performing is something I find quite difficult. However, after barely touching my acoustic guitar since the leaving cert practical, and not singing at all, this is definitely the chance to get practicing again, find something to work for and maybe take up a new instrument too (the bass, perhaps?).
Blog-wise, the biggest change I’m planning on making is that I’m going to work harder and be more dedicated than I was last year. I’m not committing to a schedule as such, because when I’ve attempted to post daily in the past it’s never happened properly – but I will definitely be uploading multiple posts each week, hopefully about 3-4. Some weeks I’ll post more, depending on how busy I am, but I’m aiming for a definite minimum of three posts each week.
What does this mean for my categories? I’m quite happy with what I have at the moment – fashion, lifestyle, travel, music, and books. I’ve let music and books fall by the wayside a bit this year, so I hope to be more committed to them. As well as book favourite posts, I’m planning to do a few reading challenges, or else combining them to make one big customised one – if you can recommend one, or even any books to read comment them below! For my music posts as well as the usual favourites I’m hoping to do some more concert posts, smaller gigs and album reviews among other ideas. The other area I hope to be more committed to is fashion – namely, taking better outfit pictures, which I don’t seem to get around to often enough! I’m definitely looking forward to being highly committed to all of these areas.
That’s everything I have planned for 2016 as of yet – it’s already shaping up to be an amazing year! I can’t wait to get started on all of these things, and see where they take me in the coming year. If you have any exciting plans, or suggestions of things to do, comment them below as I’d love to see what other people plan to achieve this year. Above all, I hope that this year is a positive, worthwhile one for me, my friends and family and anyone reading this and that it brings good things to as many people as possible. Happy New Year!
