This post is, again, long overdue – my birthday was, at this stage, almost a month ago but I’ve been unable to post any pictures from it since then due to my memory card acting up. Now that it’s working again I feel that it’s a necessity to do a post about all of my wonderful birthday presents. I’d like to make it clear from the start that in no way do I intend to brag, that’s not why I’m doing this post at all. I’m very grateful for everything I have, and to everyone who gave me these wonderful presents and I just want to share that! Also, I’m always nosy when others do posts like this, so I thought I’d do one of my own.
Anya Hindmarch Handbag
This was my biggest birthday present, and I absolutely adore it. I got it from my parents, of course, who got it from the Kildare Retail Outlet Village (is that even what it’s called? Something like that anyway.) The fact that it’s white gives me stress every time I leave the house, as anyone who knows me knows that I am 1) extremely clumsy and 2) not the best at keeping stuff clean. Nonetheless, I love it and I love bringing it places with me!
Naked Basics Palette
As you may know, anything Urban Decay has my approval. It’s one of my favourite makeup brands, so I was delighted to get the Naked Basics palette. I’ve been watching tutorials on youtube and looking up possible “looks” to do with it. I can’t wait to try out a few!
Diane O’Mahony Heart Bracelet
I’ve worn this a few times already, and I absolutely love it. This silver bracelet has a beautiful charm with two interlocking hearts on it. This was given to me by my Granny ( along with a small bag and Canadian money for our trip to the Yukon this Summer ). I love wearing this and I’m looking forward to wearing it more soon.
This year I got a few lovely things from Lush from my friends, so I’m going to deal with them all together. The first thing I got from Lush was a Gift set with a gorgeous smelling lavender shower gel, a purple bath bomb that I’m really looking forward to using, and a delicious smelling soap. Also from Lush I got a BubbleGum Lip Scrub that makes my lips feel so nice and smooth and a Coconut Shampoo. This shampoo takes quite a bit of rubbing in, which I didn’t know the first time I used it and so ended up trying to pull the coconut lumps out of my hair. I soon figured out, however, that they rubbed in after a while and then made my hair feel so good! I plan to do a full review of all these Lush products in a while, so keep an eye out for that. I was delighted to get so many lovely ones.
Another lovely present I got from a friend were these really cute earrings. I absolutely love the colours, and they came in such a cute little pouch decorated with a gold rose print. I can’t wait to wear them!
Owl Money Box
My little brother got me this adorable ow money box, and I was so happy to get it because I actually don’t have one at the moment. And it’s such a cute little owl!
Mini Rolls & Cat Food
The present from my other brother, however, wasn’t quite as cute. I adore mini rolls, so I was happy to get them. They’re absolutely delicious! The other part, however, wasn’t quite so delicious. Yes, he got me cat food. I don’t have a cat. Enough said.
Another present I was delighted to get was two classic novels from my friends, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I haven’t had a chance to read that much of them yet, as I’ve been up the walls with study, but I’m looking forward to getting stuck into them soon as I read Pride and Prejudice recently and loved it!
The Police – Greatest Hits CD
I’ve never listened to The Police that much before, but I’ve heard great things about them from my Dad, so I had great expectations for this CD. I had already heard the song Every Breathe You Take before, but after listening to the album I discovered that although it’s good, there’s some ones that I like much more. My current favourite is Roxanne.
Tesco’s Finest Lemon Curd
Can I just talk about how my friends got me lemon curd as a joke and thought I wouldn’t eat it? It was a funny present, but… it’s also delicious! I’ve had to hide it from the rest of my family so that it didn’t disappear in one day.
So that was all my lovely presents. As well as them I got a bit of cash, and a voucher with which I bought a Beyoncé CD, a Fleetwood Mac CD, two Rimmel Nail Polishes and a Rimmel Liquid Eyeliner. I’m so thankful to everyone for being so generous with the gifts they got me, and getting things like this makes me want to put so much thought into the presents I get other people.
P.S. I’m planning on getting another post up much sooner than I got this one up… Hopefully that will happen, if my Leaving Cert Schedule allows.
