In case you couldn’t guess from the title, I’m absolutely loving everything nineties at the moment and that can definitely be seen in this outfit! From the dungaress to the high necked crop top, even to my hair, when I put this outfit together I literally felt like it had come straight from the nineties. This was the first outfit I wore on my trip to London, where I attended some of the shows and events for London Fashion Week AW16 (more on that to come) over the past week. As I didn’t have that much luggage space when I was flying over, I tried to bring a limited number of coats and bags, and change up the rest of the pieces I wore every day. For that reason black zip coat will feature prominently over the next couple of posts!
First of all: Dungarees. Definitely a “love or hate” piece, but at the moment I absolutely love them. I’ve been a fan of short dungarees for a while, but recently I found myself seeking a longer pair for Spring. It took a bit of looking around to find this denim ripped pair from Primark – I tried on a few which had skinny cut pants, and didn’t sit as well. However, I love the slightly baggier “boyfriend style” cut of these ones, which gives a very nice overall shape. I was quite particular about what I was looking for, and actually wanted this cut and length but in black – when I found these ones I decided because the cut and design were exactly what I was looking for, I was ok with them being denim instead and having put this outfit together I’m absolutely in love with the denim ones.
Another quite nineties-esque aspect of this outfit is the deep red, high-necked crop top. There are a few variations of this trend, some with thinner straps, and different neck heights but I particularly love this one. It’s just so Britney/ Spice Girls reminiscent! Paired with the dungarees and jumper tied around the waist, I’m ready for my cameo in a Spice Girls video. I also really love the deep red shade of this piece, which works really well with denim and would be equally compatible with black. I’ve incorporated a darker blue toned red to go with the colour of the crop top, which I feel really completes the look.

I really enjoyed attending London Fashion Week and sightseeing around London this weekend – I have many posts to come over the next few days about what I did and saw. Before I went to London I had fallen a bit behind in posts I had planned to do due to problems on my site, but now that I’m back I’m going to get all of the London ones up and then catch up with what I had planned to do last week. I’m feeling quite motivated and inspired now that I’m back, after seeing how hard working and driven everyone in London was, so expect to be seeing lots more exciting content around here!
