Earlier this summer I was delighted to be contacted by The Body Shop and invited to try out and review their instore treatments. I decided to opt for a threading and tinting, as my eyebrows are naturally quite sparse so they needed the colour after being tinted. The people I was in contact with from the shop were so nice and accommodating and immediately set up an appointment for me when I specified would be a good time.
In order to avail of the tinting service offered by The Body Shop, I had to go in the day before to get a patch test done. To do this they put the dye on the skin behind my ear, and I had to wait until the next day and see if there was any reaction before going ahead with the patch test. Thankfully, there wasn’t, so I headed in again the next day to get my treatment done! The first thing they did was the tinting, which I found worrying as it felt like they were putting a looooot of dye on (they weren’t) and as I don’t usually do much with my incredibly sparse eyebrows, I wasn’t keen to try out the hermione look. Next they began threading, starting between the eyebrows and I naïvely thought “what’s everyone talking about, this doesn’t hurt.”
Oh, how I was wrong. So wrong.
As soon as she started threading the area under my outer brow, I realised that it actually did hurt. It hurt a lot. Every time she threaded it felt like hundreds of little pinches, and it felt like it was going on forever when she finally stopped. My first thought when I looked in the mirror and saw them was “my skin is not supposed to be that red/swollen” but they told me that would go down in about twenty minutes, and it did. Once I got over the initial shock of actually having eyebrows, I really came to like them. The staff also gave me some samples of the new exotic range perfumes they have, which smell so good. I also liked the natural, soft way they shaped my brows, and I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw how natural they looked.
If you had asked me at this point would I get it done again, my answer would have been a resounding no, but after the adjustment I’ve definitely changed my mind and I’ll certainly be heading back in to get my eyebrows done there again when I have an occasion coming up! This time I got them done just before heading to a wedding and my Debs, which was handy because I’m so happy with how they look in the pictures now! I’ll be recommending this service in the future, and if you need your eyebrows done, head into The Body Shop.
The Body Shop have kindly given me two threading vouchers to give away to two lucky readers, so if you’re interested in entering this giveaway, you can do so below!
