Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to the Warehouse Autumn/ Winter ’14 collection launch – an invitation which I gladly accepted. It was an event which I really enjoyed, and as I’ve often bypassed Warehouse and gone straight for the usual New Look/ H & M brands my eyes have been opened to somewhere that I’ll definitely be shopping in the future.
The event itself was really nice and welcoming – the people were absolutely lovely! We were invited upstairs, to where the displays were, where staff immediately offered to guide us around the new collection, and gave us a chance to have a good look at the gorgeous clothes we’ll all be lusting after this season.
The first thing they showed us was that vintage is back this season, and I must say, I’m a huge fan of this trend. I’m a big sixties lover, so its great to see more sixties-esque fashion. The first rail I got to see was full of glam throwback minidresses, more unusual velvety fabrics, and a big emphasis put on the detailing in the collars. I can’t wait to try out some of the looks from this rail.
A trend which is very big this season is the teddy coat – something I noticed that Warehouse had a lot of. This coat is available in many colours, but the most popular is the warm-pink and creamy-neutral shades. As it’s getting much colder at the moment, this means good news for the teddy coat – we get to wear it!
One of the most popular looks which I noticed here were co-ords – matching two piece outfits, often with very loud patterns and colours. The co-ords here were the perfect balance of black and white, combined with bright colours that are dying to stand out. These are wearable on many occasions, and very adaptable to different looks depending on how it is accesorised. I’d pair this look with black, chunky heeled shoes for the perfect, edgy vibe this season.
Coming away from this event, however, there’s one item which I’m obsessed with – the burgundy heeled ankle boots. My eye was immediately drawn to them when I walked in the door, I was instantly in love with them. Burgundy is a perfect Autumn colour, and it’s so wearable with any complexion.
After having a look at the collection I was offered a selection of brunch treats – the pastries and fruit sticks were divine! It was a very enjoyable event, I’m so glad I went.
It was also a lovely surprise to find a clip of myself and Rachel from OhHeyThereRachel walking into Warehouse on the RTÉ youtube channel. I was delighted!
