First off, I want to say that in writing this post I in no way want to brag/ show off. I enjoy reading when other people write these posts and being nosey about other people’s presents, so I decided to do one of my own. I’d also like to say that I was lucky enough to receive some incredibly thoughtful and generous gifts, and I am extremely grateful about that.
The first “group” of presents I’ll discuss is beauty. Of course, I was delighted to receive the Urban Decay Shadowbox in my Stocking – I love a bit of Urban Decay. This palette has some really vibrant colours that I’ve loved experimenting with this week. In my stocking I also received Eco Tool MakeUp Brushes, an Essence Eyeliner Pen, P.S. I Love Nail Polish, and some other stocking fillers such as body butter, shampoo, shower gel and hair bobbles.
I also got a nail polish set from Seventeen, as well as a cinema voucher (which I think is such a good idea for a present) from my Godmother. I love the colours if the nail polishes, especially the dark pink on the top right hand corner. I’ve already tried some of them, and I’ve been delighted with the results and how the colours came out.
I’ve had my eye on this book, The Land of Stories – A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer for a while, but I didn’t have the money to buy it so I was happy to open my present from my brother and find this inside. I’ve finished reading it now and it definitely didn’t disappoint, it’s left me counting the minutes to the next one.
The next “group” of presents, I suppose, is technology. I got a camera bag in my stocking, which I was in need of for ages. From my parents I was extremely grateful to get a Macbook Air as well as a laptop case for it. As I’ll be typing for the Leaving Cert in June, it will be extremely handy to have a reliable computer and not have to constantly be borrowing from others. Of course, it will come it handy for blogging as well!
This was the most surprising present I got – I was’t expecting it at all! When my Granny handed me a rectangular item in wrapping paper, I was slightly confused to find a leaving cert Irish book inside. As I was wondering what the significance was, she instructed me to turn to page 236 where I found a piece of paper inserted which read “1 Canada Voucher, Redeemable Summer 2015”. I was shocked (in a good way) to find out that she’d be taking me and my sister to Canada this Summer, something that I’m really looking forward to!
This cute little guy was given to me by my other brother – isn’t it adorable?
I’ve been admiring the Harry Potter range in Penneys for ages, but I wasn’t expecting to get any of them for Christmas. This made me all the more happy to get a Gryffindor T-Shirt from my sister. It’s such a nice colour, which makes it so wearable. I also got fluffy socks in my stocking, as well as pyjamas and a new dressing gown from my other Grandparents. My cousin who got me in our Kris Kringle gave me a Penneys voucher, just in time for the sales. I can’t wait to go shopping with it.
The last present I got this Christmas was a Friends Box Set from my parents, to share with my sister. Friends is one of my favourite shows, so I’m so happy to have a box set now. My Christmas holidays have consisted of watching old Friends episodes, as well as Downton Abbey Season 1 – what more could you want, really?
I’m so happy with all of my wonderful presents – I always feel like getting presents is a bonus because I love shopping for other people and picking out things I hope they’ll like, I almost forget that I’ll be getting presents too.
What did you get for Christmas? Were you surprised by any presents?
